Grew up in Maranoa electorate - racism is baked into the culture in QLD. How are people surprised that PH has so much support here and more nationally? The racism has always been there. And total confusion about the difference between patriotism and (white) nationalism. The flags make me feel like I’m back in trumps America. 🤮
I'm grandchild of a post ww2 white settler teacher and preacher couple " active " in Qld. . Growing up in the Anglican church and then my mum and dad hopping over to Baptist Church I moved away from Qld in 2000 and, long story short- lots of research on the beating white supremacist heart of Qld reveals it was and still is the Christian apartheid mission ground centre, and is in my opinion why Qld racism not only socio politically resembles US Godmerican violence but is also funded by their American Christofasct " foundations" counterparts. ACL the most obvious example. Lawyering, campaigning, narrative building and cultlike gathering in private, public and prayer communities ( including school and health stakeholders ) still missionises the good white or white-aligned ( holy violent ) control against the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People as a body, lands and full spectrum permanent materiality.. I see the current iteration of Hanson's popularity as tapping a deep Christofascist root of Euro-supremacist imperialism, marketed and reproduced by media ownership monopoly. It's taken me 54 years to see how concentrated that assimilation of God in Qld is with every aspect of law and governance. It is more than a dovetailing of ideologies it is an epoxy bond.
Yes, overlay the massacre map, over the One Nation vote, over the Voice Referendum results, and you will clearly see the chronological foundation of the racist element of that complex beast, the “Australian Identity” ❤️💛🖤

Didn’t realise you were from Rockhampton. I lived up there for a number of years about 16 years ago and it was so evident how racist the town was.
